Our People

As an employer, David Luke has had working practices in place for many years which aim to support employees and help them progress in their work and life. We have always valued our people and we feel they are our most important asset. It is important to us that our staff are able to enjoy a safe working environment, fair working conditions and a good work-life balance. We want our employees to feel empowered in their work and to have an involvement in their role development.

The David Luke Health & Safety Policy outlines what is expected of the company and the individual in order to maintain safe working practices. We have a Safety, Health & Environment Committee, made up of a Director, Managers and Staff, who meet monthly to review the ongoing management and application of the Health & Safety Policy and the Environmental Policy. Regular risk assessments are carried out to ensure we are working to reduce any negative impact of our business activities.

Fair Terms & Conditions

To keep our staff protected with good terms and conditions of employment, we take frequent advice from independent specialists in employment law and provide all our employees with a handbook of policies intended to guide them through their working life. From the Flexible Working Policy to the Retirement Policy, we aim to make sure our staff are provided with good working conditions so they can develop and grow at work and personally.

ISO9001 status

For staff to have confidence in the systems they use and the processes they follow in their everyday work, it is important that we have high standards of work in place. In 2001 we gained ISO9001 status which has assured high quality of our operating procedures. The purpose of attaining this accreditation was to ensure a quality service to our Customers but it has also enabled our employees to flourish and achieve high standards in their own work.

Individual performance and reward

Through our staff appraisal system, it is our target to encourage people to take ownership of their role so we can work together to develop it and increase job satisfaction. We also want our staff to grow in their personal lives and aim to look after our employees so they will want to work for David Luke for years to come.
