Below are the awards and accreditations we have achieved in our aim to put people and the environment at the centre of our future.

Fabric Accreditation

SCS – Global services

To strengthen our eco-credentials, in 2018 we embarked on the process of third-party certifying the Recycled Content in our uniforms. After evaluation, SCS Global Services has certified that the polyester fabrics we use in our eco-uniform products contains post-consumer waste.  Between 30% and 100% of the fibre in the materials is recycled post-consumer waste. We can now proudly incorporate the globally recognised SCS Kingfisher Certification Mark across all marketing materials and customer facing resources for the certified products.

We were the first Schoolwear business within the industry to introduce recycled polyester to its product portfolio, launching our eco-blazer in 2010. Currently, we are the only schoolwear brand that can claim it has achieved SCS Recycled Content Certification.

ISO14001
Since 2004 we have been accredited with the ISO14001 for implementing our Environmental Management System. With this accreditation, we seek to continually improve our environmental performance and we are committed to monitoring and reviewing our progress in this area.

Sustainability in Schoolwear Award 2019

We were thrilled to win our second consecutive award at this year’s Schoolwear Association evening, the ‘Sustainability in Schoolwear’ award. The Schoolwear Association awards are held every year alongside the annual Schoolwear Trade Show. This accolade was even more significant to us as we received it at the start of our 10 Year Eco-versary celebrations, 10 years since we began manufacturing Eco-uniform. To be recognised alongside this milestone was very rewarding and we’re appreciative of everyone who’s made the last 10 years of our eco journey so successful.

Best Schoolwear Supplier Award 2018

Due to our dedicated support of independent retailers, and our forward-thinking approach, in 2018 we were delighted to have been titled ‘Best Schoolwear Supplier 2018’. This was a fantastic achievement for our thriving business.

MEN Environment Award
In October 2014 we won the Innovation and Technology category at the MEN Environment Awards. The award recognises the impact our Eco-uniform has on improving the environment; reducing both emissions and waste.

HSBC Global connections – Regional finalist
In 2014 we were regional finalists in the HSBC Global Connections Competition. This recognises the most innovative and dynamic businesses in the UK. We took part in an International Exchange in Istanbul and presented in the North UK final.

Our 10 Year Eco-versary

At the end of 2019 we began celebrating our Eco-versary, 10 years since we pioneered the use of recycled polyester in school uniforms. We’re extremely proud of what we have achieved in the last 10 years with our Eco-uniform and as a business, but in 2020 it is important that we keep looking forward and further future-proof our sustainability policies.

Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development
In April 2020, we were honoured to be awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development. We join just 19 businesses in the UK to have been given the royal seal of approval for excellence in the category of ‘Sustainable Development’.
