I am so delighted that David Luke has been successful in gaining the opportunity to partner with Wood Street Mission for their Smart Start Project. We have watched the progress of this scheme over the years with admiration. Being a schoolwear business based in Manchester, with a very strong ethical stance in all that we do, we were so enthusiastic to be involved. To have been chosen by Wood Street Mission is such an honour and we are also thrilled to be able to widen the reach of our environmentally-friendly Eco-uniform to the children of Manchester and Salford.

We will always put doing the right thing first and that's why we love working with Wood Street Mission, supporting local families in our own city.
Check out some of the appeals we have participated in since 2017.
Probably our proudest achievement to date and the best example of 'School Uniform For Good'.
During our five-year SmartStart partnership, we've helped over 14,254 children from 6,338 families in Manchester and Salford to receive free school uniform through Wood Street’s SmartStart Scheme.
A firm favourite with staff at David Luke, the Christmas appeal is in our diary every year.
From fundraising, donating new toys to being an 'Elf' on the days that local families visit. This fantastic appeal eases the pressure on families so they can enjoy the festive season with their children.
This is one event we can't miss, given it's Back to School themed.
An opportunity to flex our quiz skills and raise some much needed funds for the Smart Start project to help low income families settle back in to school life.
Sadly, we've yet to win....
Our Parently Paddlers took to the Sea (well, Sale Water Park) and raced in the Manchester Dragon Boat Challenge raising funds for Wood Street Mission's Childhood Experiences project.
Wood Street Mission firmly believe that every child deserves to have happy childhood memories and that’s why they have created ‘Childhood Experiences’. Their Childhood Experiences introduces children living in poverty to experiences that they might not otherwise have.
